Sarp Kalkan Sherpa
 
Sarp Kalkan is the B20 Sherpa for Turkey. Before assuming this role, Sarp represented the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) the business umbrella organization of Turkey, at Business 20, and the Economic Policy Research Foundation of Turkey (TEPAV), premier think-tank of Turkey. at Think Tank 20 summits in Cannes, Los Cabos, St Petersburg, and Sydney.Since 2011, Sarp is an adviser to the President of TOBB. In this role, Sarp developed policy positions in key economic issues for TOBB, keeping a close dialogue with local chambers, as well as government and legislative departments. Sarp coordinated the relations of TOBB with key international organizations, including International Chamber of Commerce, World Chambers Federation. Between 2005-11, Sarp worked as an analyst at the Economic Policy Research Foundation of Turkey (TEPAV), premier think-tank of Turkey. In this role, Sarp managed projects on regulatory impact assessment for EU harmonization process, finance industry, retail industry, and employment policy. He designed and managed UMEM project, one of the largest skills conversion projects in Turkey, implemented with the cooperation of TOBB, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Labor in 19 pilot provinces and 80k trainees. Between 2003-5, Sarp managed business development efforts for Kalkan Food & Beverage, a family company of 150 employees.Sarp holds an MBA and bachelor’s in economics from the Middle East Technical University.
 
 
Ussal Şahbaz

As of November 2014, Ussal Sahbaz is appointed as the director of G20 Studies Center at the Economic Policy Research Foundation of Turkey (TEPAV), and independent think-tank in Ankara. At this capacity, he leads the content provision for Business 20 and Think Tank 20 outreach groups for Turkey’s G20 presidency in 2015.Since 2010, Ussal Sahbaz has managed programs on technology, entrepreneurship and foreign economic relations at TEPAV. Some of these activities include starting the Global Entrepreneurship Program Turkey, a program of the U.S. State Department; creating GARAJ Entrepreneurship Center, an accelerator program and a meeting space for the entrepreneurial community in Ankara.  Ussal designed and executed the largest EU-financed program to foster bilateral business relations in the conflicting countries in the South Caucasus. He is also at the leadership of the entrepreneurship chapter of the Middle East Commercial Center, initiated by the U.S. Chambers in 2013.Ussal Sahbaz graduated from Harvard Kennedy School with a master’s degree in public administration and international development program in May 2010. He holds a BS degree from the Middle East Technical University (2003) and an MA from Bilkent University (2005), both in economics. He worked as a consultant to the World Bank in Washington D.C. and as a case officer at the Turkish Competition Authority.
 
Gamze Alaçam

Gamze Alaçam is currently the Project Coordinator of B20 Turkey Infrastructure and Investment Taskforce. Before joining B20 Turkey team, she worked as a Research Analyst at Atheneum Partners, a knowledge brokerage firm based in Berlin. She also worked as a Business Development Analyst in the field of Energy and E-mobility for Dornier Consulting GmbH, management consulting firm in Germany. Gamze holds a master degree in Economics and Management Science from Humboldt University of Berlin. She received her Bachelor Degree in Economics from TOBB University of Economics and Technology in Ankara.
 
Ebru Aydın
Ebru AydınProject Coordinator of Anti-Corruption
Ebru Aydın is currently Project Coordinator of B20 Turkey Anti-Corruption Taskforce. She worked as an expert at the EU Department of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) for 4 years. Her responsibilities included the coordination of the economic cooperation projects of Jenin Organized Industrial Zone, Ankara Forum, Istanbul Forum, Nicosia Economic Forum and also the civil society projects such as the Constitutional Platform.She holds a BS degree from the Bogazici University, Department of Political Science and International Relations and Institute d’études Politiques de Paris “Sciences Po Paris”.

Damla Caglar is currently Project Coordinator of B20 Turkey Employment Taskforce. Prior to her current position at B20 Turkey, she was working as an international relations expert at Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) for 4 years. She holds a Bachelor Degree in International Relations from TOBB University of Economics and Technology and Master Degree in Eurasian Studies from University of Middle East Technical Univesity (METU).
 
 
Ufuk Kadir Ergin
Ufuk Kadir ErginProject Coordinator of SME & Enterpreneurship
 
Ufuk Kadir Ergin is a Project Coordinator assisting in the content formulation at B20 Turkey and coordinator for the SMEs and Entrepreneurship Taskforce. He has been working for the TOBB since September 2010. Before B20 Turkey, he had been mainly responsible for the revitalization of the ancient Silk Road, analyzing emerging transportation and logistics trends.
Prior to TOBB, Mr. Ergin has been working for the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign as a research and teaching assistant on data analysis and statistical decision-making models. He has also worked for the UNDP on gender equality, economic policy research, and data collection. Prior to UNDP, he has worked for the UNHCR in Ankara, responsible for the status approval and permanent settlement determination of refugees according to the U.N. 1951 Refugee Convention.
Ufuk Ergin holds a B. A. in Political Science and International Relations from Boğaziçi University in İstanbul and an M.S. in Mathematics and an M.A. in International Relations from the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign.
 
Dilek Morgül

Dilek Morgül is currently Project Coordinator of B20 Turkey Financing Growth Taskforce. She also works as an international relations expert at Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB).
Prior to TOBB, she worked for Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK) of Turkey for 3 years as Asia Pacific Business Councils Coordinator. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Relations from Koç University and Master of Arts Degree in International Relations and Diplomacy from University of Reading.

Gizem Şimer İlseven is a Project Coordinator responsible for B20 Trade Taskforce. She has been working for the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) since November 2011 as the Assistant of Sarp Kalkan, Adviser to the TOBB’s President.
Gizem holds a Bachelor Degree in International Relations from TOBB University of Economics and Technology.
